NEWS (Jan 2001):
We are releasing CBB version 0.9.0. This version is a Beta
version, for which there have been some significant changes since
version 0.8. The manual is not yet up-to-date. We will be
shortly updating this manual to make it reflect these changes.
In the meantime, here are a few quick points to note.
1) CBB now keeps track of collections of accounts. To create a
CBB account, or to import files from other programs (including
CBB 0.8), you must first create a CBB group.
2) You can now import a collection of accounts saved as a QIF
file in a single import - import QIF group. WARNING: This
import process will create default names for you CBB account
files, but it does not yet check for the prior existence of
those files. If you try to import two QIF groups in the same
directory, you will probably overwrite the files from the
first import. NOTE: you can change the file names for the
accounts once you have imported them, and we recommend this
highly. (minor caveat - don't change the account nicknames
at this time - this has some problems).
3) Accounts now have a file as well as a 'nickname' associated
with them. The nickname is the word that shows up in the
transfers, in the account list, etc. It may have spaces. The
filename is independent of the nickname and my follow any
valid filename convention. Note that the extention (.cbb) is
no longer required and any extension may be used.
4) you will need to 'import' old CBB files (ver 0.8 and earlier),
rather that simply 'load' them.
that should be enough information to get started with CBB 0.9.
We hope to have a more complete release within 2 months.
